De Staic Research offers research consultancy, surveys and evaluation for care sector organisations and programmes supporting the care workforce. We help providers, commissioners and partner organisations understand staff and service-user experiences, identify barriers and assess opportunities for improvement.
Research relevant to care homes and domiciliary care
We can develop research for care home and domiciliary care settings, recognising the practical differences between them. The design takes account of staff working patterns, access to participants and the time available for participation.
Questions may concern workforce wellbeing, access to support, staff development, retention, communication or experiences of a new service or initiative. We work with you to agree a manageable focus and useful outputs.
Staff satisfaction and wellbeing surveys
Tailored surveys can explore workload, support, recognition, learning opportunities, working conditions and intention to stay. Interviews or focus groups can help explain the survey findings and identify issues that need more detailed exploration.
See our staff satisfaction and wellbeing survey service for more information.
Evaluate services and workforce initiatives
We can help evaluate initiatives intended to improve workforce health, access to services, education or support. A realist approach asks what works, for whom, when and under what circumstances, exploring how delivery and local context influence different experiences and outcomes.
Evaluation can bring together service activity information, surveys, interviews and focus groups. The approach is proportionate to the programme and the evidence available, with clear reporting of what the findings can and cannot establish.
Inclusive participation and sensitive reporting
We consider how recruitment, language, working patterns and confidence in confidentiality may influence participation. Reporting arrangements are agreed before data collection, including how small groups and potentially identifying comments will be handled.
Where research involves people receiving care or family members, we discuss suitable participation arrangements and any consent, accessibility or governance requirements with the commissioning organisation before work begins.
Clear findings and practical recommendations
Support includes research design, questionnaire and topic-guide development, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and reports or presentations tailored to your audience. Recommendations are linked to the evidence and the realities of service delivery.
We also offer neighbourhood health evaluation, EDI research and research training for staff teams.
Discuss care sector research or evaluation. Tell us about your setting, the questions you want to explore and your timescale.
